March is Zombie History Month

March is here (or will be in about 20 minutes) & it's time to celebrate Zombie History. This month, DUH (Descendants of Undead Humans) and Society for the Restoration of Zombie History are working to spread zombie awareness and reveal the truth about the historical editing which excised zombies from the known past. Zombie History Month is celebrated by hanging imitation body parts in trees to commemorate those lost in the 1887-1895 Zombie Plague epidemic, dressing like a zombie, & giving Zombie History greeting cards on March 15th, Zombie Appreciation and Remembrance Day .
The first batch of brochures has been printed and the Zombie History Information Centers will be opening in soon. Check back for pictures, updates, & other goodness throughout the month.

Guerrilla Bird Feeder

Having talked to an admissions adviser who helped me step down from the freak out ledge, I decided to focus on a couple of projects that are more representative of what I hope to do with the intermedia major. So, inspired by an SF0 task, I humbly present to you:

Guerrilla Bird Feeder

Guerrilla Bird Feeder is a transitory, time-sensitive installation, made entirely of edible materials & intended to decay &/or be consumed. Also, it was really sticky.

more about the process can be seen & read here.

I'm in the midst of applying to the Intermedia program at Pacific Northwest College of Art, and am currently taking a moment from frantically skimming my sketchbook for portfolio worthy items (yes, this is how I spend most midnights). I've only been drawing seriously for maybe 6 months , not counting a couple of art classes I took in high school. So I'm essentially in freak out mode, trying to fill a 12-20 piece portfolio & submit it ideally before March 2nd for scholarship consideration. That probably won't happen, so at the very least I want to have it in by April...either way, I need a giant dose of calmdownfeelgood elixir & maybe a teddy bear. Rant having been ranted, here's what I'm, thinking of including so far:

Also, as an update to my previous post, long ago though it was, one of my poems was accepted by The CommonLine Project, & can be viewed here.
